Please check the calendar https://earlebaum.org/calendar/ or call the office 707-523-3222 for detailed information.

Instructor-led support groups for adults with vision loss are held twice a month at EBC (EBC Vision Group) in Santa Rosa, and once a month at various off campus locations in Sonoma, Lake, Napa and Mendocino counties. Groups are open to anyone who is legally blind, with a focus on our population of older adults.

Participants are encouraged to share their experiences, and our groups provide a fun and open atmosphere to discuss a variety of topics including low vision aids such as handheld and electronic magnifiers and more:

  • Assistive Technology devices can improve our communication and access, using tools such as smart phones, iPhone, iPad and iPod, which incorporate a personal assistant, voice-over screen readers, GPS and more.
  • Independent Living Skills involves acquiring adaptive skills for cooking, household management and techniques to help us remain independent in our home.
  • Reviews and examples of lighting, glare reduction, CTAP phones and talking book players are available to explore.

Please note that support group schedules may vary and not all groups meet at all times. For current schedules or more information, contact EBC at (707) 523-3222.
