OUR CAMPUS IS CLOSED DURING COVID-19 STAY-AT-HOME ORDERS.

WE ARE OPEN ONLINE AND PROVIDING REMOTE GROUP AND INDIVIDUAL SERVICES.

All EBC Support Groups are being done remotely via call.  Please check the calendar https://earlebaum.org/calendar/   or call the office 707-523-3222 for detailed information.

Instructor lead support groups for visually impaired adults are held twice a month at EBC (EBC Vision Group) in Santa Rosa and once a month at various off campus locations in Sonoma, Lake, Napa and Mendocino counties. Groups are open to anyone who is legally blind, with a focus on our senior population.  The groups are informal and participants are encouraged to share their experiences in a friendly atmosphere.

The group provides the opportunity, in a fun and open atmosphere, to discuss a variety of topics including low vision aids, such as handheld and electronic magnifiers:

  • Assistive Technology devices can improve our communication and access, using tools such as smart phones, iPhone, iPad and iPod, which incorporate a personal assistant, voice-over screen readers, GPS and more.
  • Independent Living Skills involves acquiring adaptive skills for cooking, household management and techniques to help us remain independent in our home.
  • Reviews and examples of lighting, glare reduction, CTAP phones and talking book players are available to explore.

Please note that support group schedules may vary and not all groups meet at all times. For current schedules or more information, contact the EBC at (707) 523-3222.
